
Toxic Matters
Five ways to avoid exposure to toxic substances: in the home, at work, in the community, at the market and through influencing government policy.
Toxic Matters is a nontechnical brochure filled with scientifically verified tips and suggestions for avoiding toxic chemical exposure:
- Prevent exposure at home - learn how to make informed choices in your home life that can positively affect your health and the health of the ones you love;
- Prevent exposure at work - learn how to avoid harmful substances associated with different jobs, substances that are present in an office environment and substances you may be exposed to during renovation projects;
- Prevent exposure in your community - learn how to reduce pollution and limit your exposure to air pollution in your community;
- Become a smart consumer - find consumer guides that will advise you on products you can buy that are free of substances that can be harmful to your health;
- Make the government work for you - become an informed citizen and learn how to do your part to influence lawmakers and help them pass laws that will reduce everyone's exposure to toxic substances.
