Would you like to learn how chemicals impact your health or your baby's health?

Become a research participant.

Very little is known about how being exposed to chemicals while pregnant may impact your health or your baby’s health. We are recruiting for our DREAM (Discovering cancer Risks from Environmental contaminants And Maternal/child health) study to learn more about:

  • What chemicals pregnant people have in their bodies
  • How people are exposed to chemicals
  • Whether chemicals impact long term health in mothers and babies, including cancer risk

Who can take part?

You can if you are:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Between 13 - 40 weeks pregnant
  • Living in one of the nine Bay Area counties, or Fresno, Kings, Madera, or Tulare counties

What's involved?

If you take part, you will asked to:

  • Complete surveys about your health history, diet, and use of personal products
  • Donate small samples of blood and urine, hair, nails, and umbilical cord blood at the time of delivery
  • Consent to review of your medical records for up to 5 years

You may be asked to participate in up to three follow-up visits (online, by mail, or in person) after your baby’s birth up until age 4. We will ask your child to donate small samples of hair, nails, and saliva.
