Veena Singla, PhD

Veena Singla, PhD advises PRHE on policy issues, including assisting with public comments to the U.S. EPA and other policymaking bodies at the local, state, and federal levels. She previously served as PRHE's Associate Director of Science and Policy. Dr. Singla is an environmental health scientist and policy expert whose work bridges scientific research and policy, with a focus on chemicals, plastics, children's environmental health, and environmental justice. Throughout her career, she has worked to translate emerging science into stronger public health protections through regulatory advocacy, scientific publications, and service on national advisory committees, including the EPA's Children's Health Protection Advisory Committee and the National Academy of Sciences' Roundtable on Plastics. Her expertise helps ensure that the best available science informs policies that protect the health of communities, especially those disproportionately affected by environmental exposures.
